Docking Station Issue: Thunderbolt 4 Not Detecting Dual HDMI Monitors

  • My Setup:

    • Laptop: Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58

      • CPU: Intel Core i5 12th Gen

      • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 4050

      • RAM: 24GB

      • Storage: 1.5TB (SSD/HDD)

      • Ports: Thunderbolt 4 (supports dual 4K @ 60Hz monitors, per manual)

    • Docking Station: MOKiN USB-C (Model: MOKN-USB C)

      • Features:

        • 2x HDMI

        • 1x VGA

        • 1x Gigabit Ethernet

        • SD Card Reader

        • USB 3.0

    The Problem:
When connecting two HDMI monitors to the docking station, only one is detected. The only working setup is HDMI + VGA, but my monitors only have HDMI inputs.

    Tests Performed:

    • Tried the dock with other devices (Thunderbolt 3 laptops, phones) – same issue persists.

    • The laptop’s manual confirms Thunderbolt 4 supports dual 4K @ 60Hz monitors, so this should work.

    Questions:

    1. Is this a dock limitation (compatibility issue)?

    2. Does the Acer Nitro 5 require specific Thunderbolt 4 settings for dual HDMI output?

    3. Has anyone with similar hardware experienced this?

  • @MOKiN Global

    Model: MOUCO214
    S/N: 2403
Sorry, here is the model and S/N

  • @Cássio Cavalcante Santana

For the MOUC0214 docking station, when using DP1.4, dual monitor output is limited to 4K@30Hz + 1080P. However, since your computer has a high-end configuration, you can achieve dual 4K with the following models:

    MOUC3702:MOKiN 12 IN 1 USB C Docking Station With 3 Monitors

    MODK1402:MOKiN 15 IN 1 Docking Station With 8K Resolution

MODK1407:MOKiN 13 IN 1 Laptop USB C Dock Dual Monitor with 2 HDMI DisplayPort

  • @MOKiN Global I understand, but I tested it with two full HD 1080 monitors, does this requirement also end up limiting it? In my tests, only VGA + HDMI port 1 ended up working. I did the test using only HDMI port 2 and they do not return any video signal.
