Thunderbolt 4 loses charging

  • Hi! I purchased a Mokin DK1903 docking station for my Lenovo ThinkBook 14+ Intel U7 255H. I encountered an issue where the charging via Thunderbolt 4 would stop working after a while. However, the connection to the docking station remained intact. I connected this docking station to my Huawei Matebook laptop, and the charging via the TB4 continued, but periodically (about once a minute) the sound would become distorted when listening through the speakers. I suspect this issue is causing the Lenovo laptop to lose power. Could you please advise me on how to resolve this issue? Changing outlets and ports doesn't help.

  • I checked the connection again today. The power supply was next to a surge protector and speakers, so I decided to move it further away. The problem went away. It seems likely that the surge protector or speakers was interfering with the power supply, causing charging issues. While I'll keep an eye on things, I'm not sure the problem will recur. I think you should mention this in the troubleshooting section.

  • Hi @Kirill Nikitin

Thanks for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear that moving the power adapter away from potential sources of interference, such as surge protectors and speakers, resolved the issue. We’ll consider this when updating our troubleshooting guide.

Thank you for your feedback. If the issue occurs again, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
