     Why pop up the USB device is not recognized?

    Hi Marleen Kretschmann,

    Reasons related to unrecognized USB devices.

    1. Poor contact between the product and the computer socket. Poor communication will lead to data transmission between the two not flow; it will cause the "unrecognized USB device" window to pop up.
    2. Driver abnormality: The interface between the product and the computer is standard, and the data can be transmitted usually, but due to driver abnormality (including driver not installed, driver incompatibility, driver and system conflict, etc.) cause the computer to display "unrecognized USB device." You can check the universal serial bus controller on the device manager to check.
    3. Insufficient power supply to the USB port: The product cannot operate normally due to insufficient power supply to the USB port of the computer it is plugged into. When using the docking station, the PD power supply must be ≥ 65W.

     

    Solutions to unrecognized USB devices.

    1) Turn over the USB-C port on the hub and insert it into the computer again to see if there is an error.

     

    2) Use the Driver Wizard or Driver Talent Pro, Driver Booster Pro, Driver Reviver or other driver software to scan, check, download and install the driver.

    • Find the Universal Serial Bus Controllers in the Device Manager, then uninstall the USB driver, and right-click to Scan for Hardware Changes and get the driver again. Especially pay attention to the exclamation mark, you need to uninstall it first, and then right-click to Scan for Hardware Changes, it will be installed automatically. Finally, please restart your computer.

    I have MODEL mouco221 s/n: 2411 in a Windows computer (LENOVO X1) and the "Device Not Recognized" keeps popping up even though the docking station is working properly.

    I connect to the USB-C connector that allows the computer to be charged and I am using the power outlet from Lenovo that provides 65W.

    Can you please give me some options to fix this issue as the sound and popping window of USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED becomes really obnoxious.

    The solution to this issue is as follows:
     
    *1. Update the USB driver:---------
    1). Click the search icon in the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then click Applications in the results.
    2). Select the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section to expand it, right-click on the first controller, and then select Update Driver.
    3). Now select the first option to automatically search for drivers
    4). If the system finds a new driver, it will install the new driver. You can also click and search for Windows Update to update drivers if your computer already has the latest drivers.
    5) The computer will then go to the Windows Update menu. Click on Advanced Options.
    6) Now select Optional Updates. If you find driver related updates, select and install them.
     
    *2. Change USB power settings: ----------------
    1) Click the search icon on the taskbar, type "Control Panel" and select "Applications" from the results.
    2) Select "Power Options".
    3) Click on "Change Schedule Settings" for Power Plans.
    4) Now select "Change Advanced Power Settings".
    5) Next, click USB Settings to expand the USB Selective Suspend setting and change it to Disable.
     
    *3. Uninstall the USB driver: ------------
    1) Click the search icon on the taskbar, type in "Device Manager", and then click "Applications" in the results.
    2) Expand the "Universal Serial Bus Controller" section to see if there is a driver with a yellow question mark symbol, right-click on the driver and select "Uninstall Device".
    3) Now restart your computer and the system will install the driver automatically.
