Generates new random MAC address for every laptop plugged in to it

  • Hi

    Model: MOUC3915

In common with certain other docking stations (e.g. from HP), this seems to generate a new MAC address for every laptop that plugs in to it rather than just keeping the same unchanged MAC no matter which laptop plugs in. For secure networks that only allow pre-registered MAC addresses to connect, this is very inconvenient when multiple laptops share multiple docking stations. Is there any way to stop this behaviour and invoke something like a pass-thru mode?

It would be a shame not to be able to use it because it handles the displays very well.

I have other docks that don't exhibit this behaviour but it seems to be completely unpredictable which models do and don't.

    Thanks

  • Hi @Chris Eardley,

    Thanks for your support.

Our products support the MAC address pass-through function. To enable this feature, please contact the customer service team of your computer manufacturer and inquire about how to activate the MAC address pass-through function in the BIOS.

    Best regards

  • OK, will do. Thanks for your quick reply!
